Wellhead Upholstery – Lincoln’s traditional upholsterer

Wellhead Upholstery takes pride in being recognised as one of Lincoln’s finest traditional upholsterers, offering classic and contemporary services in Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas.

Our head upholsterer and head tutor is Geraldine Gunner, who achieved a number of upholstery and soft furnishings qualifications, including an HND with distinction in traditional upholstery at Bishop Burton College, Beverley, in Yorkshire.

Geraldine runs Wellhead Upholstery in a very friendly, relaxed manner – as you will discover if you ask us for a free, no-obligation quote. We would be only too pleased to visit your home or business premises in the Lincolnshire area, where we will happily discuss fabrics, renovations, and options for breathing new life into that well-worn piece of furniture. Wellhead Upholstery also offers a nationwide service, arranging collection and delivery by courier.

Geraldine runs Wellhead Upholstery’s courses at country house hotels, and is able to arrange tailor-made upholstery or caning courses at the hotel of your choice (or, if you prefer, the accommodation can be at a bed and breakfast). You will soon learn Geraldine is very passionate about the business and enjoys passing on upholstery skills to her students.

Wellhead Upholstery supports St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, donating prizes to the Branston Hall Hotel Ball and attending its craft fairs in the Lincoln area.

Don’t dump it – recycle!

Wellhead Upholstery firmly believes in being green, and we abhor the waste created by many other upholsterers and soft-furnishing providers. We abide by our principles, finding outlets for all our remnants – be it top fabric, calico, hessian, cotton flocking or polyester wadding. For example, St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice reuses top fabric to turn into doorstops, while many remnants are made into ‘green’ bags in charity shops, rather than plastic carriers. Meanwhile, another friend of Wellhead Upholstery creates quilted boxes from fabric, curtain lining and polyester wadding. And we are now reknown for our beautiful hares made from our workshop remnants.

In fact, the ability to reuse and recycle was exactly the reason that attracted Geraldine to the joys of traditional upholstery. As the tag line says: don’t dump it – recycle!
